The Process
1. The Consultation
We begin by discussing your Muse - your inspiration, ideas, subject matter, art style, and the space the art piece will live - to build the foundation that will bring your vision to life. Primary mediums used are acrylic and oil paint.
2. The Commitment
Once details are finalized, a written commission agreement secures the project. An estimated fulfillment date will be agreed upon, which may need to take into account a wait list if a prior commission is still under works. A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required before I begin the painting. For larger works, a three-installment plan may be arranged.
3. The Creation
I will often devote 100+ hours to a painting, depending on scale, medium, and complexity. On request, I may share one or two moments of progress. Minor refinements are welcomed at these stages, however requests for larger revisions will incur an additional fee. Please note that oil paintings can take several weeks to months to fully cure (hardening beyond dry touch) before its surface can be varnished for protection. I do use fast-dry oil mediums to reduce time to fulfillment.
4. The Reveal
Upon completion, the piece will be revealed, in person or by photography, and the final balance is due before release. All works are offered for local pickup or delivery as indicated on written commission agreement. This allows your artwork to be released directly into your care without incurring the risks of commercial shipping.
Pricing
The pricing of each commission is calculated by canvas size and time taken in design and execution. The breakdown of pricing can be provided on request but will be non-negotiable.
